Like most weeks of the year, at M O’Brien Plant Hire we have been taking delivery of the latest plant and machinery to hit the market. This week alone we have taken delivery of new Hitachi ZX225-6 excavators, Cat D4 Dozers, Hitachi ZX135 specialist tunnelling machines, but the most notable is the new Kobelco SK140-7 excavators.

The SK140-7 is Kobelco’s latest version of their zero tail 15 tonne excavator, its Stage 5 emission standard compliant engine offers users an increase in production as well as fuel and carbon saving benefits when compared with tier 4 models in its class.

Our newest excavators were popular from the word go and this week we have delivered the first wave of Stage 5 SK140’s to high profile projects in Highways, HS2 and rail sectors, who are encouraging and assisting us with this drive forward for new technology.

Feedback from both customers and operators is very positive in terms of the machines performance and fuel efficiency. These 15 tonne excavators are available with our regular selection of safety devices including 360 cameras, slew restrictors, height restrictors and safe load indicators.

Our range of equipment available with tier 5 equipment is growing stronger all the time and now includes all excavators up to 13 tonne, 30 tonne excavators, 35 tonne excavators, as well as dumpers and rollers.
