Costain Skanka Joint venture working on behalf of HS2 paired up with M O’Brien Plant Hire this week to help out at Netley Primary school to implement new social distancing measures ready for when pupils return in September.

By installing a number of new walkways it allows the school to create a one way system in which pupils can use to travel between classes without crossing paths.

Looking to do this in the most eco friendly manner the team utilised one of the M O’Brien Plant Hire fleets JCB 19c E-Tec zero emission mini excavators, which lasts a full shift on a single charge of its onboard battery. Working alongside sister company Willow Plant Hire’s 1t dumper.

This is one of many examples of HS2 site teams offering its help and expertise to help the local community
